改编自真实事件，本片讲述上世纪四五十年代苏格兰警探William Muncie和连环杀手Peter Manuel之间的猫鼠游戏。Peter Manuel曾经因为入室盗窃和性侵被Muncie警探投入监狱。9年后Manuel出狱后又开始疯狂作案，与此同时Muncie开始收到其寄来的手写卡片。Muncie誓将Manuel抓获。。Siblings, Eric & his surreal artist sister Kay, her doctor husband David, her sister-in-law Brooke along with pilot Marsh become stranded on a rugged isle face off against a supernatural beast drawn to Kay who dreams of its killings。
