叶繁星（戚薇饰）和男友肖寒（吴奇隆饰）相恋多年，感情十分要好，然而为了两人的事业着想，他们选择将这段恋情藏在地下。某日，叶繁星结识了名为闵四月（左航饰）的女孩，趣味相投个性相似的两人很快就成为了无话不谈的好友。与此同时，以为叶繁星单身的傅夏（任言恺饰）苦苦爱恋的叶繁星，可这段暗恋注定得不到回响。 一次偶然中，傅夏震惊的发现，叶繁星的地下恋人竟然正是自己的舅舅，而叶繁星亦察觉闵四月是自己失散多年的妹妹，不仅如此，闵四月喜欢的人，正是肖寒。为了成全旁人的幸福，叶繁星决定牺牲自我，然而她的付出却并没有换来回报，反而让大家落入了不幸的深渊之中。。In this bitingly satirical film Peter Slovan, a continuous source of trouble for the film functionaries of the socialist Slovakia, tackles an evergreen topic – the corruptive effects of power. Barnabáš Kos, a triangle player at a symphonic orchestra, is suddenly promoted to serve as the head of the said institution, even though both he and his superiors deem him completely unfit for the task. Encouraged in equal parts by this unexpected recognition and the servile praise of his colleagues, Kos’s modesty starts to gradually vanish. The erstwhile bashful and aloof percussionist quickly becomes aware of the advantages of his new office, and begins to realise his increasingly ludicrous artistic ambitions. Ultimately, the submissive marionette turns into a source of public humiliation, and his astonishing career finds an abrupt end. Orchestra serves here as a microcosm that grotesquely reflects the absurd and tragicomic mechanisms of the paranoid apparatus of power.
