本片讲述的是一个香港人在深圳安家置业，其儿子每天跑过罗湖桥来到香港上学。在深圳，这样的孩子已将近万人。故事中的这户家庭突遭变故，在灾难袭来的时候，小主人翁新仔既感受着深港亲情和人间关爱，也有骗子和罪犯游荡在他的身边。有的想骗他的钱财；有的企图把他拖入犯罪的泥潭。新仔本是一个少不更事、有些懒惰、又有一些虚荣的孩子。在经历家庭的变故以及生活的磨难以后，他逐渐的成长起来，由脆弱变成了坚强、由懒惰变为勤劳、由虚荣变为朴实，真正的成为了一位可以帮助父母撑起家庭的小小男子汉。在深港双边的援助与关怀下，这个曾经不幸的家庭慢慢的走出阴霾，对未来重拾了希望……。In this dark comedy, an idealistic young man volunteers at a crisis counseling center staffed by a group of con artists, low lifes, and misfits and discovers that before he can save the world, he may have to save himself.。Malvís (Alfredo Landa) is sick of working like crazy for nothing.
